The Mid-Day Meal Scheme is one of the most important interventions by Government of India to promote education. Several studies have revealed that the Mid-Day Meal Scheme has had a significant impact on the nutritional and educational status of children. The Mid-Day Meal Program have several key benefits.
At SVAV, through its Hara Kasturi Memorial Trust, we initiated a project to provide midday meals not only to our school children but also to children of various other low-income schools.
A kitchen with modern cooking facilities is operational at our SVAV campus. Utmost care is taken to maintain optimum level of hygiene standards while the menu is carefully selected to provide high nutrition value to all the children.
Full Day Meal for SVAV Students: At SVAV we offer nutritious meals three times a day, i.e., Breakfast, Lunch and Supper. We have a carefully select menu for the week to serve nutritious and tasty food to our students to ensure their physical and mental well-being.
Mid-Day Meal for other schools: We offer only one-time meal daily to the some of the low income schools located in Hapur. We maintain best of standards of hygiene and then deliver the food by vehicle to the schools. Currently we are offering mid-day meal to two schools covering around 200 children in Hapur.
Mid-day Meals are also provided to physically challenged children in Jhajjar, Haryana.
